Welcome back staff who have been off during the summer.  I hope you are feeling refreshed and ready to start the new year!            September 1st will be the Bay-Arenac ISD's Opening Day Event with speaker Dr. Ruby Payne.  The Opening Day Event with employees begins at 7:45 a.m. in the Career Center Cafeteria with the employee program to start in the Lecture Theater at 9:00 a.m. Community members can attend to hear Dr. Ruby Payne via live feed at the Career Center Lecture Theater starting at 10:10 a.m. Please register online at by clicking here.              Check out Coursewhere for the latest upcoming courses for Fall.        Here are some of the upcoming courses:  Literacy Leadership Network  will provide support and training for B.A.I.S.D. literacy learning leaders. The training and monthly network meetings begin Sept. 15, 2010.            Seat Time Waiver Seminar will be held September 16, 2010.  This virtual education program allows students to use up to 100% online instruction to complete high school graduation requirements.         The  Sex Education Supervisor meeting is being held at the Bay-Arenac ISD on September 24, 2010.

            Thingking Maps:  Introduction workshop will be held September 27 & 28, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.         Teachers Grades 3-8.....sign up now for Creating Informational Text Genre Units.  Participants will create a complete informational genre unit to correlate to their grade level GLCEs for ELA.  This workshop begins September 29, 2010.            Bay-Arenac ISD sponsors the Imagination Library program for children ages 0 - 5 in Bay and Arenac counties.  Is your child receiving a book a month?  It's free!  Contact Jill Bialek at 989-667-3223 to learn more.
